A few weeks ago, Haute Vallée had a very fun week – Kempt House week! There were many fun activities to do which raised money for Jersey Children’s Charity.
So what were the activities? Well, on one day we were incredibly lucky to have Euan Van der Vliet (the Jersey Bulls goalkeeper) who came to our school to do a penalty shoot out. Students gathered around the 3G pitch at lunch to try and score a goal against Euan. With charity in mind, people paid 50p per shoot. There were some very impressive goals scored!
If Art was more your thing, you could also design an Easter egg for your House. Seymour House designed a lovely blue fish themed egg, while Kempt displayed a yellow Easter rabbit holding a beautifully decorated egg. Fliquet designed an eye-catching red egg with flashing glasses and Rocco had an egg with a ravishing floral design.
Of course it wouldn’t be a proper Haute Vallée House week if we didn’t sacrifice some teachers so at lunchtime everyone gathered in the theatre to watch some brave teachers have eggs cracked on their heads! Miss Trebilcock, Mr Grocott, Mr Ritzema and Mr Hughes all had eggs cracked on them with unlucky Mr Ritzema having the most cracked on his head. It was a truly enjoyable lunchtime that students from all different Year Groups gathered round to watch.
Amazingly, there was also a darts competition! In this competition students went up against other students in their Year Group with the finalists going against teachers. There was a £1 entry fee.
Finally, there was also a dress down day as it was the last day of the charity week and people donated £1 to wear their own clothes.
The chosen charity for Kempt House week was “Jersey Children’s Charity” a charity that aims to support ill, disabled and disadvantaged children and their families by helping with travel costs, healthcare costs and is relevant to many of our pupils and certainly worth donating to!
