An Amazing Adventure Week

From Monday 1st June to Friday 5th June, our group enjoyed an action-packed week of outdoor activities organised by Katie Mulligan and her team. Every day brought a new challenge, exciting experiences, and plenty of opportunities to learn new skills while having fun with friends.

Monday – Water Sports and Archery

Our adventure began with a morning of paddleboarding and kayaking. The weather was great, and everyone had lots of fun exploring the water. One of the highlights was jumping off the stairs into the sea, which was both exciting and a little nerve-racking! We also had the option to buy lunch before getting on the minibus and travelling to Grouville Football Ground. In the afternoon, we took part in an archery session where we practised our aim and competed to see who could hit the target most accurately.

Tuesday – Abseiling and Shelter Building

Tuesday was full of adventure. In the morning, we travelled to Noirmont Point for an abseiling session. Climbing down the cliffs was an incredible experience and challenged many of us to overcome our fears. After lunch at The Line Up in St Ouen’s, we headed to Grève de Lecq Woods to build shelters. Working together as a team, we created shelters using natural materials from the woodland. It was both enjoyable and a great way to develop teamwork skills.

Wednesday – Boogie Boarding and Knife Craft

Wednesday started with a boogie boarding session at St Ouen’s Bay. The waves were perfect, and everyone had a fantastic time in the sea. After another lunch stop at The Line Up, we travelled to Grève de Lecq to take part in a knife-craft activity. We learned how to safely use tools and create our own wooden craft items. It was interesting to learn new practical skills before returning to school at the end of the day.

Thursday – Exploring History and Survival Skills

Thursday gave us the chance to explore some of Jersey’s wartime history. We visited several bunkers and learned about their importance during the German Occupation. Afterwards, we travelled to Les Landes Long Range Shooting Range to search for old spent bullets. Many people found several pieces, but I was especially excited when I found what appeared to be a sniper round. Later, at St Catherine’s Woods, we tried lighting fires using survival techniques. Although it was challenging, it was a valuable skill to learn.

Friday – Coasteering and Farewell Celebrations

Our final day was one of the most memorable. Instead of going to Grève de Lecq, we went coasteering around Bouley Bay. This involved climbing, swimming, and jumping into the sea, making it an exciting way to finish the week. After lunch at The Line Up, we travelled to Kzzs’s fire site, where we built our own fires and roasted marshmallows. With a whole bag of marshmallows to share, things became a little messy but were great fun. At the end of the afternoon, we said goodbye to Kass and the helpers. It was a sad moment because we had all enjoyed spending time with them throughout the week.

Conclusion

Overall, the week was an unforgettable experience. We took part in a wide variety of activities, learned new skills, challenged ourselves, and created lasting memories with our friends. A huge thank you goes to Katie, Kazz and his team for organising such an exciting and enjoyable week. It is an experience that we will remember for many years to come.
