Liberation Day

On Monday 11th May, Mr Ingram made and sent an assembly to all classrooms about the importance of Liberation Day and why it should be celebrated. He spoke about all of the elements of the war.  Liberation Day in Jersey is a crucial national day marking the end of five years of occupation by the Germans during WWII in 1945. It serves to remember the suffering, honour survivors and victims and celebrate the restoration of freedom. The presentation by Mr Ingram reminds students that it is not just a holiday, it is a commemoration for the ones who survived and to remember those who didn’t.
