The process of selecting the students for the Du Putron Challenge was carried out by Mrs Barnard and Mrs Gilbert when they acted as our Heads of Year. We had to go through a lengthy selection process and the three of us felt really happy to finally be selected. Our quiz scores played an important part in how we were selected to represent our school as well as other factors.
The weeks leading up to the challenge were exciting but quite scary. I didn’t know what would happen! Mrs Langford accompanied us on the outing. The taxi ride there felt quick. I walked onto the showground and saw the stage as the first heat took place. As it was our turn to go up, I felt nervous. As our heat went on, we caught up to the other teams and made it to the final!
After an intense battle, we placed second and won prize money which was a fantastic result. Later that night, I slept well knowing I did so well in representing our school.
